When it comes to online dating, there are a lot of misconceptions floating around. So I’ve compiled a list of six Online Dating Tips to help you navigate the process with confidence.

1. Don’t Swipe Right or Left Too Early

It may be tempting to swipe right or left on someone who doesn’t reply to your initial messages, but resist the urge. There are a million possible reasons why someone isn’t responding, and it doesn’t necessarily reflect on their attractiveness or value as a person.

2. Take Time to Read Their Profile

Rather than jumping straight into asking a question, take some time to read the person’s full profile and consider their words carefully. This will give you a better sense of who they are and what they’re looking for in a relationship. It also helps you spot red flags that may not be obvious at first glance, such as if they mention a criminal background or a drug habit.

3. Don’t Share Personal Information

Never give someone you haven’t met in person your personal information, such as your address or work details. If they insist on getting this from you, report them immediately. Also, always meet in a public place for your first date and consider telling a friend where you’re going and what time you expect to be back.
